Sommigen onder ons kennen classic wel. Daarmee kan je oude ppc programma's laten draaien. je krijgt dan geen bureaublad en iconen van classic te zien.
Maar nu heb je Darwine. Hetzelfde principe als classic, maar dan voor windows programma's.

ik heb het zelf uitgeprobeerd en het werkt wel goed. Maar niet alle windows programma’s zullen werken onder Darwine. Windows XP applicaties al helemaal niet.

Get the latest x86 Darwine DP here: http://darwine.opendarwin.org/download.php
doubleclick to mount and then drag the entire ‘Darwine’ folder into your ‘Applications’ folder.
Steps 1 & 2 are for freetype. It IS neccesary, I know that if you don’t have xcode tools it will be a big download, 750+ megs but it’s good to have.
Freetype:
You will need gcc4 to install freetype, get this from installing xcode tools (if you don’t have an ‘official’ mac, it may not be on your current install disc but you can download it online. Xcode tools is rather large. If you have a pre-10.4.4 (10.4.4+ are dual layer dvd’s) or uncracked disc you have it (xcode tools) on disc.

Darwine:
3. You must have x11 installed on your system from your installation disc (/System/Installation/Packages/ X11User.pkg).
4. Download this ‘tempwine’ folder i made here (884 kb, very small): http://www.mytempdir.com/714285 extract it to your [b:caa1666026]Desktop[/b:caa1666026].
5. We are assuming you have the darwine folder in your Applications folder already. COPY AND PASTE these lines into the terminal:

ln -s ~/.wine/drive_c ~/.wine/dosdevices/c:
ln -s / ~/.wine/dosdevices/z:

6. Run a Windows app (there are some samples in the ‘Darwine’ folder in your ‘Applications’ folder).After you successfully run a Windows app, you can delete the ‘tempwine’ folder on your Desktop. You can also move the ‘Program Files’ folder whereever you want. (This shortcut gives you easy access to “installed” Windows apps, it is otherwise hidden.)[/i:caa1666026]
Bestaat dit niet al een aantal maand of was dat toen de beta versie? Heb het toen geprobeerd en veel draaide er niet onder enkel oudere en zeer simpele apps, wat wel jammer is. Ik gebruik dan toch liever boot camp of parallels.

Ik zat al achter de Mac toen jij nog niet eens in de maak was… Nou, ik zit er helemaal niet op te wachten om naar ouwe zooi van een ander besturingssysteem terug te gaan…

Laat ze toch lekker spelen als ze dat willen, ik ben op de hoogte van de conservatieve houding van de
ouwe mackeraars, ontdekken is weten, lekker rommelen is juist leuk, al is het Qbasic of een ouwe C64 of Speccy, alles is leerzaam, dat moet “u” ook weten… :love:

Als het goed is staat X11 op de DVD of een van de CDs die bij je Mac zitten. Wanneer je zelf dingen wilt gaan compileren, moet je ook de X11 SDK installeren.
