[size=9:13626a7919]Dear Douwe-Jan,

Thank you for contacting Apple.

Based on the information you provided, it is our understanding that you are experiencing longer than expected uploading times with iWeb and .Mac.

An upload time of 3 hours for one page is not expected behavior. The following steps will allow us to efficiently isolate the cause of the issue.

Please verify that you can successfully connect and upload a file to your iDisk. If you are unable to connect to you iDisk using your current network, you will be unable to publish to .Mac using iWeb.

To connect to your .Mac iDisk:

  1. Click Finder in the dock.
  2. From the Go menu, choose iDisk > My iDisk.
  3. Upload any file to your iDisk to verify functionality.

If you have successfully connected and uploaded a file to your iDisk, please proceed with the following troubleshooting steps.

We would like for you to create a new Mac OS X user account and test to see if the error you reported occurs in a new user. Creating a new user in Mac OS X is actually quite an easy process; it will greatly assist in efficiently isolating the cause of the issue you reported.

Please completely review the following knowledge base articles for more information about setting up multiple users in Mac OS X:

Mac OS X 10.4 Help: Adding a new user account to your computer:

Once you have created a new user, log out of your current user and then log in to your new test user account. Access the following URL and select the icon to create a trial .Mac account:

<http://www.apple.com/dotmac>

Once you have configured a trial .Mac account, enter that information into the .Mac System Preference Pane, then open iWeb.

Please create a test site and publish it to .Mac. If you experience long upload times similar to what you were experiencing, please connect directly to your modem; bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches.

If the issue persists, we would like for you to test on a different network connection, such as an internet hot spot, university, or library.

If you can upload from that location without issue, then you have isolated the cause of the issue to your network connection and we recommend contacting Demon for support with your connection.

If the issue persists regardless of the troubleshooting recommendations outlined above, please reply to this message. In your response, please provide the following so that we may fully investigate your issue:

  1. Confirmation that you completed the troubleshooting steps outlined above.
  2. A step-by-step list describing your actions prior to experiencing this issue.
  3. The exact text of any error messages you encountered.
  4. If you have iDisk Sync active.

Sincerely,

David
